Chinese fans hope for a H.O.T reunion

Chinese fans are hoping for an H.O.T reunion.
Former H.O.T member Lee Jae Won recently made comeback a for the first time in four years, now that he has been discharged from the military. He held a showcase in China to kick off his Chinese promotions. It was here that the fans expressed their support and hope for a H.O.T reunion.
The showcase was held for five hours at a hotel in Beijing on December 27th in front of 1,000 fan. The crowd reportedly began gathering on site since the early morning. The fans had various signs with them as well as balloons to congratulate Lee Jae Won on his comeback.
To the pleasant surprise of fans, fellow H.O.T member Tony An made a surprise appearance at the showcase. It was much more meaningful as his visit was also a surprise for Lee Jae Won.
After seeing Tony, the fans expressed their desire for a JTL reunion as well, sending the boys their cheers and applause of support.
After the showcase was over, Lee Jae Won remarked, “I was both nervous and excited to stand on stage as it’s been so long, but I was able to have a successful showcase thanks to my fans their support. I will always stand on stage being grateful to my many fans.”

Jang Woo Hyuk is worried about his new Chinese drama

Singer Jang Woo Hyuk who has been in cast in a new Chinese drama expressed his excitement as well as his concerns.
On December 26th, the singer wrote on his me2day page, “Did you guys have a good Christmas? I guess I will be in Hainan for this New Year’s. I’m headed to Beijing to film my drama. I never imagined that I would be in a drama. I’ll be back soon, I’m excited to see a different side of myself and hope to be pleasantly surprised by a new me.”
“So worried about my Chinese drama in March, so worried. I will be sure to show you what horrible acting looks like. Jang Woo Hyuk- displaying Hallyu’s ‘bad acting’ for the very first time.”
The actor also shared four selca shots of himself, looking chic and stylish while rocking a pair of black-rimmed glasses with a black scarf and black shirt to match.

On December 22nd, Boyfriend announced that they will perform H.O.T‘s hit song “Candy” on this week’s episode of ‘Music Bank‘.
To prepare for the performance, Boyfriend sought a lesson from Tony An himself.
The H.O.T. member gave the rookies a few pointers: “You need to be fresh, pure… Wear the clothes, know the butt-on-the-floor as well as the hammer dance, and of course, my part (the chorus). I became famous because of that part. Oh, and don’t dance too hard, just have fun with it”.
Afterwards, Tony An gave them a demo of the chorus and assured the boys that they’ll do well.

Donghae, Kangta, Se7en and more to support judges on SBS ‘K-pop Star’

On December 25th, SBS ‘K-pop Star‘ will feature a special panel of judges including HOT‘s Kangta, God‘s Kim Tae Woo, Se7en, Psy and Super Junior‘s Donghae.
The three primary judges(J.Y. Park (JYP), Yang Hyun Suk (YG), and BoA (SM)) will be conducting a 1-on-1 individual audition with the contestants who passed the first round. The five special judges will make an appearance during these auditions and also chime in giving useful advice and suggestions to the contestants.

The three primary judges were reportedly holding the auditions with the remaining contestants who passed the first round in three separate large rooms. It was said that there was much applause from JYP and BoA’s room. However, Yang Hyun Suk was seen scolding many of the contestants that he judged. Those who gave a good impression to Yang Hyun Suk were praised, but those who didn’t, witnessed first hand of his fury.
The five special panel judges joined their individual label-mates separately to support them in judging the remaining contestants.
A representative of the show shared, “These training sessions will make the program more interesting. As we move on to the second round, the competition will get more intense and audiences will be able to better see the potential of the remaining contestants. Please anticipate the second round.”

Jang Woo Hyuk promotes animal adoption through new photo shoot

Jang Woo Hyuk is the newest 1st-generation idol to actively show his support for animals’ rights.
On December 19th, singer Jang Woo Hyuk revealed his CARE (Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth) photo shoot pictorials, which was done in an effort to further promote adoption of abandoned animals.
According to CARE, their campaign efforts have helped increase the percentage of total animal adoptions, however, 80% of the animals being adopted are all full-breed dogs, as adopters still prefer them over mixed breeds.
The singer who has personally raised a Shih Tzu named ‘Ppo Ppo’ for the past ten years has contacted CARE, as he was interested in doing something meaningful for the abandoned dogs out there.
For his pictorial, Jang Woo Hyuk posed with abused dogs who were rescued from puppy mills, which made the photo shoot that much more meaningful.
After the shoot was over, Jang Woo Hyuk remarked, “There are a lot of abandoned dogs that are waiting to be adopted into a warm and loving home. It’s unfortunate that adopters still prefer full-breeds. Dogs are creatures you ‘adopt’, and not ‘buy’. I hope that people who are ready to adopt dogs as a new member of their family will take and care for these animals.”

Jang Woo Hyuk records ’1N2D’ in freezing weather

On December 16th, artist Jang Woo Hyuk shared some proof shots from the recording set of KBS 2TV‘s ‘1N2D‘.
The rapper wrote, “1N2D recording set is so cold. Current status — [bus] stuck at a slope due to heavy snow.”
We can only imagine how cold the set must have been, since Jang Woo Hyuk turtled into his winter jacket to stay as warm as possible.
Netizens commented, “It must have been really cold. Can’t wait for your special episode“, “Hope you don’t get sick“, and “Your face is so pale“.

H.O.T members Tony An & Jang Woo Hyuk are not aware of an H.O.T reunion?

Recently, the Korean press reported that original Korean idol group H.O.T may be reunifying soon, and releasing an album under their former label, SM Entertainment.
But recent tweets by members Tony An and Jang Woo Hyuk seem to suggest otherwise.
On December 13th, Tony wrote via his official Twitter page, “There seems to be lot of people who are getting excited over sudden talks of a reunion… Can someone explain to me what this is all about?”
Fellow member Jang Woo Hyuk retweeted Tony’s tweet and wrote, “What is this, what is this, what’s going on? How is this going to happen ~~ ^^”
Tony wrote again saying, “A reunion would be great.. and it’s true that in the past, we have discussed a few different options. But the only thing that’s for sure is that if we’re really going to do it, it should happen sooner than later. It’s foolish to live in the past instead of looking towards the future. Back then, it was difficult for all of us and we each had our share of pain, but looking back, overcoming those hardships made us who we are today.”
Netizens who read Tony’s tweet left comments such as, “I guess the media got prematurely excited“, “But I got so excited first thing this morning…“, “Think it through before you decide“, “We will wait as long as we have to. We fans would love to see you five reunite“, “We’re behind you, no matter what you decide“, and more.
On a recent poll, H.O.T. was chosen as the #1 idol group that fans would like to see reunified. Hope glimmered for fans when they saw all of the members present for maknae Lee Jae Won‘s discharge, but it seems as though fans may have to wait a while longer.

H.O.T. in discussion to reunite and release a comeback album with SM Entertainment

One of the first ever Korean idol groups H.O.T. has revealed that they are discussing a return with SM Entertainment!
Moon Hee Jun recently appeared as a guest on an OBS program and discussed the group’s potential comeback, stating, “We once agreed on the comeback of H.O.T. and exactly when and how it will happen, but several internal details have led to it being postponed. We’re still continuing discussions on it, however.”
He continued, “I don’t know about what anyone else is saying, but what our members agreed on so far is that we’re going to agree with whatever Lee Soo Man has in store for us with SM Entertainment, because he is our creator. As of now, we have agreed to release an album under SM Entertainment.”
His statement has sparked widespread excitement amongst fans, who have been whispering for their comeback for some time now. In short, H.O.T.’s reunification and return lies in SM Entertainment’s hands, which might be happening at a faster date than predicted.
Annually, H.O.T. was chosen as the #1 idol group that fans would like to see reunified. Hope glimmered for fans when they saw all of the members present for maknae Lee Jae Won‘s discharge.
